                TALBOTT ROCHE
CEO & President of Blackhawk Network
Talbott’s interests in deep analytics and consumer-facing businesses came together to help create the gift card industry we know today. She was working for Safeway in 2001 when an insight that working women have only have 30 minutes of discretionary time, but control 70% of gift buying, led to a trial placement of gift cards in their stores that did a whopping $9 million in sales.
Fast-forward 20 years and Blackhawk Network is now a $26 billion dollar business across 28 countries, providing convenience and making gift cards more accessible to 100 million consumers.
About Blackhawk Network
Blackhawk makes it easier to share meaningful gifts with family, friends, and colleagues on any special occasion. They offer retail partners a flexible merchandising option, allowing them to tailor the brands and products they feature to closely match the demographic profile of their customers and store locations.
METTE LYKKE
CEO of Too Good to Go
When Mette first saw the app Too Good To Go, she “thought it was a brilliant concept.” Mette connected with the app’s creators to offer them congratulations, just as they were searching for someone with app experience to join the team. Within a few weeks, she had invested and was working with them full time. Today, Too Good To Go is the largest marketplace for surplus food.
Running a company comes naturally to Mette. She’s an entrepreneur
by nature and a natural leader: “Authenticity is one of the values that I strongly believe in when it comes to leadership.”
About Too Good to Go
One third of all food produced is wasted. Too Good To Go is on a mission to change that. They provide food retailers with a toolbox to help them mitigate food waste while recouping some of their costs and increasing their margins.
